own hair Review by Chemo & Cancer Tips

Is it possible to have my own hair made into a wig? I had long hair and had it cut short knowing I was going to lose it during my upcoming chemo treatments and I have saved it. Thank you. (Posted on 02/15/2022)

Technically, yes. However, it takes many heads of hair to make a single wig. If your hair is long enough to be used, your hair could be combined with many other heads of hair to make a wig. Custom wigs are in the thousands of dollars and take many months to receive. So while it is technically possible, it's not affordable or practical for most people. We recommend purchasing a high quality synthetic wig to our chemo patients. They are easier to care for, more affordable and immediately available. (03/23/2022)

I was wondering if you had any hats, caps etc for little girls with braids or hair hair attached? My daughter is 6 and Im going to get her one of your wigs but thought it might be fun to throw on the newspaper boy hat or cap with braids attached. Thank you (Posted on 06/17/2017)

Unfortunately, we don't. But what a great idea! We have found that most kids prefer to wear hats due to comfort and practicality. A favorite for little girls is the Rylee hat. That one is an absolute must! (06/24/2017)
